You... you killed him, didn't you? What did he ever do to deserve that? Or did my father send you? No, it doesn't even matter. Just leave, right now! Sovos Horaren
You may be right. My father's resources would let me hire good masters -- the best money can buy. And although I'll certainly miss Gulmon, I can try and use his lessons in my own life back home. I'll pack my things and return to Bal Foyen soon. Sovos Horaren Disposition ≥ 70
And go back to following my father's orders, you mean. No, %PCClass, I won't be bribed into returning. I'd rather stay here and learn under Gulmon's guidance than back home. Sovos Horaren
My father hired the Morag Tong to kill Gulmon? This sort of thing is exactly why I left! That mer just can't bear losing at anything; he always manages to pull some dirty trick at the last moment and get things his way. *Sigh* I can't just let this happen to Gulmon, but... there's not much I can do except go home, is there? I'll pack my things and return to Bal Foyen immediately. You can let him know he's won. Sovos Horaren
Was I not clear enough before? I'd only be unhappy there. Gulmon's hut may not be as comfortable as my old manor, but at least I don't have to go around forcing a smile and being told just how to act the whole time. Give me one good reason to return, and maybe I'll listen to you. Sovos Horaren
Have you come to try and convince me to go home again? Because I can tell you right now that I won't be returning to Bal Foyen. Sovos Horaren
I met Gulmon some time ago while returning from a trip to Veranis. He was kind enough to take me in for the night when the residents of Bodrum weren't, and we ended up having quite the conversation. After listening to him talk about the simple joy he found in farming and studying the blade, I realized that the life I led wasn't the life I wanted. Back in Bal Foyen, I'd spend the rest of my days under my father's thumb; only working to make him richer. But out here, I'm free. Sovos Horaren
Your guild has taken care of him. Not as quickly as I might have liked, but I will acknowledge a job well done. Tholas Horaren
My son has indeed returned, and I have you to thank for it. As per our deal, I have canceled the writ of execution I placed on Gulmon. Now, do you need anything else? Tholas Horaren
If you feel so strongly about it, then perhaps. But I would have you perform me a favor first: I want my son back. That Gulmon stole him from me, and if he is allowed to live, then I must have my son. That way, we can all forget that this whole mess ever happened in the first place. So get Sovos back to Bal Foyen -- I don't care how -- and I will rescind the writ. Tholas Horaren Disposition ≥ 80
Why should I? The Tong hasn't taken to returning writs unfilled, has it? Understand, %PCClass: that Redoran farmer took my son, made a fool of him, and ruined the future of my business. So do your duty and make sure that he faces his proper punishment. Tholas Horaren
Hm. You must be with the Morag Tong, to be asking me about him. But how do you know that I was the one to order his execution? And why have you come into my house to discuss it? Tholas Horaren
You'd be wise not to mention that name around here. He's the mer who met Serjo Sovos Horaren, the heir to the Horaren estate, on a trip out in western Roth Roryn and convinced him to run off. Sovos just decided to leave Bal Foyen one day, and live with Gulmon out in the wilderness. I don't know how some dirt farmer -- and a Redoran, too -- could've gotten him to do that, but the boy always was a little impressionable. He'll be back soon, though; I heard Serjo Tholas ordered a writ on Sovos' new friend. Gilmyn Othravel Disposition ≥ 60
It's done, then? I... no. There's nothing more to say. May his spirit find its way to Necrom swiftly, and may he one day forgive me too. Talali Hloril
You did what?! %PCName, I wanted to save Gulmon, not have you kill him instead! Just go tell Master Dulo about it if you haven't already, and leave me alone. Talali Hloril
You killed Tholas Horaren's son? And you somehow thought that would help save Gulmon? I can't believe you would do this, %PCName! But fine; I suppose there's nothing I can do now anyway. Just go tell Master Dulo about it if you haven't already, and leave me alone. Talali Hloril

What? You want the writ on him? I -- oh. You told Dareni Dulo about my situation, then? I thought you were better than that, %PCName. But... I suppose it is our duty to fulfil the writ, and at least I won't have to look him in the eye this way. Just go now, and get it over with. Talali Hloril
Dareni Dulo just told me the news -- Tholas Horaren withdrew the writ of execution! You can't imagine how relieved I am, %PCName. Please, take this as a reward; it's the sword that Gulmon used during his time as a Redoran warrior. He gave it to me as a parting gift, but I think you deserve to have it now. Talali Hloril
You've convinced Sovos Horaren to return to Bal Foyen? That's wonderful news, %PCName! You should inform Tholas Horaren immediately. Talali Hloril
If Tholas wants his son back, then I suppose you'll have to travel to Gulmon's hut yourself. Go to Bodrum and leave town through the northern gate. Then head left on the road leading out of the gate and take a right turn after that towards Malahk Pass and Veranis, staying on the paved section of the path. Once you pass a Velothi tower on your right, you'll stumble on a crossroads next to a cave called Barunal. Take a left there and head up the mountain path. Gulmon's farmstead is at the end of it. Talali Hloril
So he convinced Tholas Horaren's son to leave Bal Foyen? Well, then maybe you can still make Tholas to see some reason. Perhaps he'd call off the writ if his son came back? Talali Hloril
I'm afraid I can't be of much further help to you. Just make sure to ask around at Horaren Manor and see what you can find. Talali Hloril
Then please think quickly. Gulmon is a good mer, and he doesn't deserve to die like this. Talali Hloril
Thank you. The only other information I could find on the writ was at Horaren Manor. A servant there let slip that he might have some information, but I couldn't get it out of him. The place is here in Bal Foyen's upper district, just along the main road right next to the Andas Estate. Talali Hloril
He brought me back to his hut, tended to my wounds, and helped me recover -- if it wasn't for him, I would have died there. I'm as loyal a member of the %Faction as anyone else, but I can't do this. Surely you understand that, %PCName. In fact... maybe you'd be able to help me with it? I've tried to find out who ordered the writ, but Dareni Dulo won't tell me, and I haven't found any other real leads. If I could find out who that client was, maybe they could be convinced to rescind the writ somehow? Talali Hloril
You're here to ask me about all the delay on his writ? I suppose it was inevitable that someone was going to notice eventually. I know that I'm bound by the tradition and customs of the Tong to execute it, but I just don't think that I can kill Gulmon. You see, I was severely wounded on one of my first executions several years ago. The whole thing had gone completely wrong, and I barely escaped with my life. I had collapsed and lay dying in the wilderness outside Bodrum, when Gulmon found me. Talali Hloril Disposition ≥ 30
The writ on him was rescinded. I take it that was your doing? No, don't worry -- neither you nor Talali will face any punishment for your actions, as they did not go against the Tong's rules. Though I wouldn't recommend trying anything like this in future. Dareni Dulo
What? You killed Talali Hloril? %PCRank, your actions were not just disloyal and contradictory to my orders, but a violation of the %Faction's rules! You're expelled. I don't want to hear any of your excuses -- just get out of my sight. Dareni Dulo
You've done what?! You killed Sovos Horaren, the son of the mer who ordered the execution of Gulmon Nulen? Do you have any idea how much damage this will do to the Tong, %PCRank? You're expelled. I don't want to hear any of your excuses -- just get out of my sight. Dareni Dulo

You have honorably executed the Writ on Gulmon Nulen. The payment and honor for this Writ is yours. I also want to thank you for taking it over from Talali. Dareni Dulo
You have honorably executed the Writ on Gulmon Nulen. The payment and honor for this Writ is yours. I also want to thank you for taking it over from Talali. Dareni Dulo
You did what? %PCName, it was Talali Hloril's duty to carry out the execution of Gulmon Nulen, not yours! These kinds of unsanctioned killings only damage the Tong's reputation. Dareni Dulo
You have been given this Writ already, %PCName. As you know, Writs are issued only once. Your official paperwork will exonerate you from your deeds when you are confronted by the authorities -- so guard it well. If you have lost it, you will have to suffer punishment for your crimes. This can be costly... very costly. But members of the %Faction must have immaculate reputations. Dareni Dulo
Gulmon is a former Redoran warrior who's retired to a small farmstead in Roth Roryn. He's experienced enough to put up a decent fight, but should be far less tough than some other writs that Talali has already executed. She came by a few days ago asking about him again, but it felt like she was more interested in the person who ordered his death. I want you to talk to Talali downstairs and find out what's keeping her from executing this writ. Dareni Dulo
