Let's not chat too long if you don't have orders for me.

Right. I'll be off, then. Never much liked hanging around with the prisoners anyway.

The Dark Elf in the cell? He just turned himself in for murder, %PCRank. What about him?

The Dark Elf in the cell? He just turned himself in for murder. I'd advise you not to go anywhere near him.

He's imprisoned here, yes.

Yes, I am Mureth Arelan. The murderer of that, uh, trader fellow.

Not that I don't appreciate you saving my life, but I don't think it's such a good idea for you to stay here. I need to lie low for a while. Being seen with you won't help that.

What else is there to say, %PCClass? I want to live. So please, let's travel together to Ruddy Eggs Exports and get there hopefully in one piece.

There's no point pretending anymore, is there? I was working with the Ja-Natta Syndicate. The woman who attacked me was one of the people I reported to. She said that if I ate a murder charge for them, they'd make me part of the gang for real. And I believed it. You came here for information, right? I'll give it to you, but not here. Travel together with me to Ruddy Eggs Exports. Protect me on the way. If you get me there alive, I -- I'll testify against the Ja-Natta Syndicate.

What? You want to talk to me? I haven't done anything wrong, you know.

He left the inn a little while ago, and said he wouldn't be back. I'm a little relieved he's gone, to be honest.

He had a room here, but then he was killed recently.

He's in the room just across the hall from me. Doesn't leave it most of the time, in fact, and only at very late hours when he does. I think he's mixed up in some kind of shady business.

He's staying downstairs.

You're going to have to make amends before you can get back to work, %PCRank.

%PCRank. Do you want to live a long and healthy life? If not, feel free to keep mouthing off about how badly you bungled the situation with Mureth.

One less greydust pusher won't do us any harm, but a big deal being made out of Suvilo's case would've.

So he's dead. Maybe some bright spark at Heron Hall will think something of it, but the Legion in Narsis is too badly run to put the pieces they need to hurt us together. Coulda been pretty nasty if things had gone otherwise, though. Take some gold for your efforts, and these potions too.

He'll have been arrested by now and hauled off to Heron Hall's jail. The cells there aren't locked up too tight, so it shouldn't be much hassle to break in if you can avoid the guards. Heron Hall isn't far from here -- leave the hideout to the west and head up the north ladder. Go just a bit east along the road and Heron Hall will be on your right.

He's got a room at the Last Drop inn by the silt strider right now. He won't be too willing to turn himself in, but he's small-time and knows it. If you can frighten him into thinking the alternative is worse, he'll probably do what you say.

He sells greydust for us out of the Last Drop inn. Why do you ask?

You've been expelled. I cannot discuss this with you.

I won't mourn his passing, exactly, but a lot of potentially useful information died with him. And that's a loss I do feel.

For obvious reasons, it's rare to find someone who will knowingly testify against a member of the Syndicate. I'll do what I can to make sure Mureth stays safe. As for the fact that he's supposed to return to Heron Hall... well, the Legion seems to have some presence where he is now. I'll just make sure a few more reliable people are keeping an eye on the place too.

For obvious reasons, it's rare to find someone who will knowingly testify against a member of the Syndicate. I'll do what I can to make sure Mureth stays safe. As for the fact that he's supposed to return to Heron Hall... well, the Legion had a chance to do things their way. Now it's our chance to handle things.

Extremely well done, %PCRank. Mureth was a fool to get involved with the Syndicate, but if he's willing to testify against them, I'll find it in my heart to forgive him. Here's your payment. And when you're ready, you've been requested by name for some other business.

He's dead? Damn it! It was obvious the Syndicate was going to try something, and what did the Legion do to prepare? Nothing! Now we all have to deal with the consequences. Gods. Well, you've been requested by name for some other business. I suppose you should focus on that.

This is a valuable opportunity, %PCRank, but a risky one. You've seen what the Ja-Natta Syndicate is willing to do to their allies. I'm sure you can imagine what they do to outsiders who interfere with them. Escort Mureth to Ruddy Eggs Exports as he asked, but be careful.

I'm sorry -- he's being attacked? Right now, as we speak? And you thought that instead of doing anything to help, you should come back to me and gossip about it? Get BACK there, you utter moron!

I can't find very much about him before his arrest. He came to Narsis a few years ago, apparently, and since then he's been doing odd jobs to make ends meet. In any case, he should be waiting for you in the Heron Hall prison as we speak.

This is a transparent attempt to deflect blame from a Syndicate insider. The Legion is obligated to take his confession at face value -- at least for the time being -- but we are not. I've informed Heron Hall that you will be taking him away for an interrogation. Head to the prison there to pick him up and find out what he knows. Ask him about his motive. Poke holes in his story. Whatever it takes to ensure speedy justice for the real criminal here.

The murderer? We have him locked up at the moment. Serves him right. The prison is just below us.

Your request was highly nonstandard. But yes, we received word that he'd be leaving with you. He should be waiting in the prison below us.
