I have heard that you and Arch-Mage Ysadora recovered the spell from the heart of that amulet. Well done. It's a feat that's hard to believe! Ralsa Ondusi
I have heard that the spell was lost. But I know the Arch-Mage. She won't rest until Passwall is restored. Ralsa Ondusi
When you cast it, simply touch a wall in front of you. Some walls may be too thick for the spell to penetrate, and it is disrupted by Aetherial light -- perhaps a lingering side-effect of the magic which warped it -- so it won't work outside. But I'm sure you can find a use for it. Ysadora Bellette
I will resume my research. It seems as if my papers on Passwall fell victim to the anti-magic curse as it wreaked havoc on my guildhall. But I restored it once with the aid of the BALROG. I can do it again. Ysadora Bellette
Thank you, %PCRank. It is as I thought. Some enchantment yet lingers in its heart. It is fractured, and time-worn, and you put it to hard use, rescuing me. But this spell and I... well, by now we are old friends. If I just... yes. I know it now. Here, I shall teach it to you. This is Passwall. Ysadora Bellette

Thank you, %PCRank. I'll just take it and... oh. Oh no. The enchantment is dead. Worse than dead. It has been... usurped. Some fragment of the anti-magic that Nelgirion was toying with in that petty realm of his somehow wormed its way into this amulet. Perhaps Passwall is truly gone, now. Forever. I feel as if I've lost a dear friend. But we can make the best of this situation. I believe I can understand this curse, now. It may prove useful when fighting liches like Nelgirion. Here, I will teach it to you. Ysadora Bellette
You wish to perform your own research on it. I understand. It is yours by right. But once you've plumbed its depths, please bring it to me. That amulet and I have unfinished business to attend to. Ysadora Bellette
A shame. %PCRank, if you should find it again, please bring it to me. I would be curious to see if some trace lingers, and whether it could be coaxed forth. Ysadora Bellette
So, you reached the place outside of space by means of the Aundae's ancent amulet. Tell me, do you still have it? Ysadora Bellette
So, Arch-Mage Ysadora managed to resurrect the spell -- uncorrupted, this time -- with your help. It will serve you. But do tell me if you notice any... ill effects. Lord Mhas Vathor
The spell is truly lost. Any attempt to bring what is left of it back will have disastrous consequences. Do not attempt it again. Lord Mhas Vathor
There is still an echo of the dead spell in this amulet, mortal. It is enough. As promised, I will guide you when you step outside of space. Lord Mhas Vathor
The original form of Passwall is lost. Your Arch-Mage played a dangerous game, trying to bring back what was left of it. Lord Mhas Vathor
You have an Amulet of Passwall, %pcrank. If Lord Mhas Vathor is right, which he almost always is, it can bring you to where the Arch-Mage is. Go and bring it to him. Ralsa Ondusi
I'll take the gem, restore it to the amulet, and... there. The enchantment is complete. However if I understand Lord Mhas' directives correctly, the magic remains too dangerous to use. The anomaly still warps it. I have fortified the enchantment so that it will only function with Lord Mhas' guidance. Bring the amulet to him, and with it you will be able to take yourself to... wherever it is the Arch-Mage has found herself. Go, now. Ralsa Ondusi
Bring me the gem and I will restore it to the amulet. That will complete the enchanment. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
It's done. The gem should be safe for you retrieve now. Hopefully the magic of Passwall has been restored to it. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
Watch, %PCRank. But don't get too close. The containment field is directing most of the energy into the gem, but it can only contain so much. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
You've placed the gem in the field. Good. Anatolius will now activate the BALROG. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
Place the gem into the containment field, and we can proceed with the work. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
I have removed the gem from the amulet in which the enchantment was contained. Take it, and place it in the containment field over the BALROG. Then, return to me and Anatolius will activate the BALROG. A great deal of energy may be released, and so you must stay outside the BALROG's chamber while the operation is in progress. Let's go. Ralsa Ondusi Narsis, Guild of Mages: Genatorium
Is this an Amulet of Passwall? On closer inspection, I can feel a small amount of magic inside of it. Incredible. It's not enough to truly awaken the spell, but we may be able to enhance its power using the BALROG. At least, enough for our purposes. Meet me downstairs, in the Genatorium. Ralsa Ondusi
An Amulet of Passwall? I can see why the Arch-Mage opted not to follow through on this. Every magical item enchanted with Passwall was rendered useless after the Warp in the West. Even if Katylinwe is right, and some magic is still inside of the Amulet, fighting a vampire ancient is a big risk. Still, I don't see any other option. It certainly seems safer than using the BALROG again. Ralsa Ondusi
The amulet may appear useless, but there's still a shade of the spell on it. I can feel it. Take it back to Ondusi. I'm sure she'll be able to do something with it. Katylinwe of Telatessa
As I said, Dhaunayne Aundae has an Amulet of Passwall with her. The enchantment was rather powerful, so it likely wasn't rendered fully useless when the spell stopped working. Katylinwe of Telatessa
You're still chasing after Passwall? After all that happened? It's your risk to take, I suppose. I'll tell you exactly what I told Ysadora. I know where you can find an Amulet of Passwall. It is in the possession of the mage who calls herself Dhaunayne Aundae. Most magical items that were enchanted with Passwall were rendered inert after the Warp in the West, but the magic in this amulet was especially potent. I suspect that at least a shade of the spell remains. Katylinwe of Telatessa
Go speak to Katylinwe of Telatessa and find out what the alternative she presented to the Arch-Mage was. Her house is in the Foreign Quarter. Ralsa Ondusi
While Ysadora and I were researching Passwall, she consulted with an exile from the Summerset Isles named Katylinwe of Telatessa. I wasn't present for their conversations, but Ysadora told me that she proposed an alternative way to reconstruct the spell. The Arch-Mage decided to use the BALROG instead. We both see how that turned out. I'd like you to speak with Katylinwe at her house in the Foreign Quarter and find out what this alternative method was. She lives just near the Fighters Guild. Ralsa Ondusi
Are you serious? You are, aren't you? If you were capable of that, it seems I definitely chose the right person for this. Don't worry yourself about Lord Mhas' banishment. The last time I visited Alta Vathor, the shrine was tended to by a Sigillah Parate. I doubt she's left since then. Sigillah is an extraordinarily talented sorceress. She should be able to conjure Lord Mhas back from Oblivion for you. Ralsa Ondusi
Passwall is a short distance teleportation spell that is commonly used to pass through doors and walls, hence the name. It was made unusable during the Warp in the West. Ysadora went missing during an attempt to bring it back. Ralsa Ondusi
I received a package from Arquebald Vene in Old Ebonheart the other day. It had this inside, and a letter explaining that it appeared on their teleportation pad. They magically traced it back to here. It's Ysadora's. I need you to bring this hat to the Dremora Lord Mhas Vathor. He makes his home at Alta Vathor, a Daedric shrine in the Coronati Basin. Lord Mhas will be able to use the hat to find Ysadora. He'll probably ask you to do something for him. Do it. We need the Arch-Mage back as soon as possible. Ralsa Ondusi
With stars? You're certain? It must have been hers, %pcrank. I need you to go get it and bring it to the Dremora Lord Mhas Vathor. He makes his home at Alta Vathor, a Daedric shrine in the Coronati Basin. Lord Mhas will be able to use the hat to find Ysadora. He'll probably ask you to do something for him in return. Do it. We need the Arch-Mage back here as soon as possible. Ralsa Ondusi
Why, yes, it is. It was in Old Ebonheart? Curious. But it seems that we're in luck, %pcrank. I need you to bring this hat to the Dremora Lord Mhas Vathor. He makes his home at Alta Vathor, a Daedric shrine in the Coronati Basin. Lord Mhas will be able to use the hat to find Ysadora. He'll probably ask you to do something for him in return. Do it. We need the Arch-Mage back here as soon as possible. Ralsa Ondusi
The spell allowed its user to travel short distances through doors and walls, hence the name. It was killed by the anti-magic field that was created in High Rock after the Warp in the West. Arch-Mage Ysadora and I were working with the BALROG to rediscover the spell when she vanished. My working theory is that she did find the spell, but when she did so she also made contact with an anti-magic anomaly. I have an idea of how to find her, but we'll need a personal artifact of hers to do it. Ralsa Ondusi
