I haven't heard that name for years. You found his body? And his belongings? I hoped that evidence was forever buried, never to be uncovered... I won't miss a chance to bury it again, s'wit. Guls Hloran
I know nothing about this affair. The idea of a murder at my plantation sounds unacceptable -- though, I admit, not implausible. I can assure you that none of my servants would ever murder an Imperial official, but I have a suspicion that one of Orvas' former caretakers, Guls Hloran, could be involved. He is old and works in my basement; one of the few retainers who didn't leave for Vvardenfell with my son. If he is indeed the murderer, you are free to bring him to justice. Releniah Dren
I have nothing to say about your investigation. But if you or your partner lay a hand on Muthsera Dren, you will find it missing, and your head soon to follow. Ulvon Farethi
Report back to Commander Baryl, %PCRank. I'll take care of the rest and settle the matter with the Drens. Ernasi Viran
You've already killed Guls Hloran, the Camonna Tong thug here? It wasn't him who was giving the orders, obviously, but we can't do anything about that now. It's a shame that we couldn't get him alive, though. But I'm certain the Hlaalu won't intervene -- he's no one of importance to them. Report to Commander Baryl and tell him about our success, %PCRank. Ernasi Viran
We're limited in investigating the Drens' involvement, but at least now we're official. Wonderful. If Prulius' journal doesn't lie, someone at this plantation was acting on Orvas Dren's and the Camonna Tong's behalf. Let's go together inside the Lady Releniah's manor. We must question Releniah Dren and her retainers to find out who's responsible for the murder. Ernasi Viran
Return to Commander Baryl, %PCRank. Let him know we're closer than ever in this case, and make sure he gives us explicit permission. Ernasi Viran
The gold tooth wasn't there? Those Camonna Tong fiends must've removed it! They knew the missing tooth would be the nail in their coffins. No doubt they kept it, just as they did the other evidence. But their arrogance will be their downfall. We'll turn this place upside down if we have to for that tooth. %PCRank, return to Heron Hall and ask Commander Baryl for permission to search the plantation for the murderer and make an arrest. Ernasi Viran
Did you find the corpse? What about the gold tooth? Don't be squeamish -- go inspect the body! Ernasi Viran
Look for the gold tooth. In the absence of the murder weapon, that'll be as good as the blade in our hand. Ernasi Viran
The Lady Releniah will be tough; her sons are testament to that. We'll need strong evidence. Take this shovel here and have a look around. If we can find Prulius Sudatian's body, then perhaps Releniah will be more forthcoming. You'll recognize him by his gold tooth -- I doubt our murderers would have removed that too. Ernasi Viran Old Dren Plantation
Meet me at the Old Dren Plantation, %PCRank, just outside Narsis. Not Orvas Dren's plantation on Vvardenfell. Ernasi Viran
Prulius Sudatian was murdered. He was run through with a sword, and then his clothes were removed. They began to bury him, but realized that this potentially identifying ring was left on his finger -- that's when the dirt was worked in, and when they removed it. He must have had the journal with him, as well, which means that the scene of his murder, and potentially the location of his body, is the Old Dren Plantation southeast of Narsis. Meet me there. Ernasi Viran
Prulius Sudatian was a fastidious note-taker, and in my last investigation I collected and read his journals. That's what I was looking for down here. I thought back then there was one missing, because the last of them was dated months before his disappearance. We've finally found it. Wait, what does this entry say? %PCName, the 12th of Midyear was the last day Sudatian was seen alive. It seems he was planning to visit the Dren Plantation. Does this mean Orvas would be there? Is there anything else? Ernasi Viran
Was this Sudatian's? The style isn't Dunmer. I'd guess it's either Breton or Nord, but I would have to to check with a jeweler. Do you see the red dirt in and around the seams and features on the ring? The wearer of this ring had their hands, at least, in the dirt, and Prulius Sudatian wasn't known to be much of a gardener. If this belonged to him... nevermind. Was there anything else in the package? Ernasi Viran
I'm certain this is one of Sera Sudatian's shirts. There was a tailor he favored in the city who could confirm that. And you see how these two slits in the fabric line up, front and back? He was run through with a long blade. By someone skilled in its use, if the position of the strike is anything to go by. Right through the heart. You know what this means, %PCRank? It all but proves that Prulius Sudatian was murdered. Did you find anything else? Ernasi Viran
Prulius Sudatian worked for the office of the last Proconsul, Carasa Avidia. He was committed to rooting out Camonna Tong influence in House Hlaalu. I investigated his disappearance a few years ago, but there wasn't enough evidence to identify a culprit. We didn't even have a body. But now a package has been dropped off in the courtyard with his name on it. Might just be a prank. Or some help from the murderer's enemies. Can you fetch it and bring it down here so we can find out? Ernasi Viran
You had a promising career, %PCName. I hoped you would balance out Trooper Viran's recklessness, but apparently you somehow thought murdering her was a better option! Since we're of the same rank, I cannot dismiss you. But know this: you will never patrol in Narsis again. Ereven Baryl
You had a promising career, %PCName. I hoped you would balance out Trooper Viran's recklessness, but apparently you somehow thought murdering her was a better option! I've already prepared the paperwork to send to the Lord General for your immediate dishonorable discharge. And if you somehow return to the service, know this: you will never patrol in Narsis again. Ereven Baryl
You reined in Trooper Viran from dealing with the Drens. She brought us the prisoner, but hasn't made her report to me -- no doubt she's drowning it in the same bottle where she drowns all her successes and troubles. But you did well. I hope you now understand that not all of Narsis' problems can be resolved in their entirety. You've earned an advance. I have more orders for you, when you're ready. Ereven Baryl
You have your orders. Make sure to be careful with the Dren family -- under no circumstances should you do any harm to Releniah Dren or her sons. Ereven Baryl
Are you asking for permission to make an arrest at the Old Dren Plantation? First, I have to warn you that the Drens are not to be challenged lightly: Vedam Dren is the Duke of Vvardenfell, and Releniah Dren has proven herself to be valuable to the Empire. Under no circumstances should you implicate the Lady Releniah in the murder or harm any of her sons. You may find and arrest the murderer of Sudatian, but it will be treated as an independent incident, and only they will be charged. Dismissed. Ereven Baryl
It's a years-old murder case we closed due to lack of evidence, but it seems a new lead has been recently uncovered. I believe Trooper Viran wanted to speak with you about it. She said she'd be downstairs, in the contraband storage. That's the door beyond the entrance to the holding cells. Ereven Baryl
