As I said, I pointed your lizard friend to Nidipal Grotto, Mirhel Grotto, and Zurindi Grotto. Check there.

All three grottos are on Lake Coronati's shores, before you ask. Nidipal Grotto is just north of Hlerynhul, not far from the big bridge there. Mirhel Grotto is a tricky one; it's on the southern shore directly south of Ald Iuval across the lake. Zurindi Grotto is not far southeast of Ald Marak. If the legends are true, the Benthic Mail ought to be in one of those. Your lizard friend sure seemed to believe it, at least.
