He was apprenticed to Turon Baluath, the greatest Elder of our lineage. Vunal destroyed himself four years ago, and his ashes remained, too heavy for the wind to blow. Of all his Ancient Baalvayn armor, only his shield remained at the burial site, with his ancient magic protecting it from mortals and unworthy vampires. I cannot explain how Vunal still controls it. Can a vampire become a ghost? I'm sure I saw his likeness at the summit as I started my ascent to the burial.

Hannat-Tulu's ability as a trainer entitles him to the rank of Stalker. More importantly, he will help us to understand our less civilized brethren.

The Ageless Apprentice is dead then. Shame. You deserve to keep his shield for yourself, %PCRank. You may be interested to know a certain ashwalker, Hannat-Tulu, tracked your scent back here. He says you two met, and Kashshaptu convinced him to stay with us. He should have returned from his hunting to the Halls of Woe by now. Are you ready to continue recruiting kinfolk?

Come back to me when you find the Ageless Apprentice, or what remains of him.

Vunal was one of the oldest Baluath still stalking the wastes. Every so often he'd be spotted atop the taller peaks of the region, particularly near the Ashlander sky burials. Around four years ago sightings ceased, and he was thought destroyed, but as Utukku-Seri tells me, his figure appeared once again atop the sky burial due northwest of Ald Balaal and west of the ruins of Barzamthuand. Investigate that place. Bring us the Ageless Apprentice if he still lives, or whatever remains of him if he is dead.
