There's much to learn, but I think I'm getting the hang of things. We'll be heading north towards Blacklight very soon. Erns Alar
I can't pass this up. Ever since I was a child it's all I've dreamed of. When I look out over the waters of the Thirr, I see nothing, blackness -- her wakes lapping onto the sand, sure. But beyond that? It might as well be a vast, endless ocean. That's what I see. Far, far from here the river opens up, and soon I'll get there. Erns Alar
If this is true, I'll grab my things and run for the docks. But, Lady Mothran... My mother. She will be quite alone. Now that the opportunity is here, there's so much going through my mind. Will I be missed? Will I ever return? Do I want to return? I--I have no doubt the rewards will outweigh the costs... Anyway, %PCName, trust I'll be on that ship. I ask only for a moment. One last stroll on the local shores before I leave. Erns Alar
Hlerynhul is sure to produce a hearty stock of capable sailors. Nevermind if they've not earned their sealegs. Self-determined, tough, physically and mentally, dirt under the fingernails, a yearning for adventure. When you've found exactly that, have them come aboard. Vasesius Lannus
He can't leave yet. His belongings, his books, he must come back for them. My poor boy. Hlana Mothran
He's leaving? Won't he need to come back for his things, to say goodbye? I--I must get back to my chores. Lady Mothran could be down at any moment. Nara Selos
You won't find anyone with a more romantic view of seafaring than Erns Alar. It's quite silly, actually, in a charming sort of way. He gave up his adoptive name for that of a children's book character. The great captain Furon Alar. If someone should come up to him and say, "Come aboard my ship, adventure awaits!" without hesitation he would go. He would be missed, however. Nara Selos Disposition ≥ 75
The only person I can think of is Erns Alar. Few can draw him away from his work when tending the fields, but he has spoken to me on several occasions as I arrive from town. It's always something about sailing, or the ocean, or adventure. Very endearing, to say the least. I'd hate to see him go. Nara Selos
Oh, dear me. You wish to take my Erns? I rarely see him anymore. He works diligently in the fields. Nara is the only one to have spoken to him as of late. She loves him, but he shows little interest. Only the dream of the open ocean. It would be wrong to keep him here. Orphaned, yes, but we cared for him and offered every privilege and luxury. He wants none of it. If he accepts this call to adventure, tell him to leave at once. If he comes home, if I embrace him... I don't know if I'll be able to let go. Hlana Mothran
Dyus knew what he was doing, learned from the captain himself. Can't say how many times he kept us off the rocks. I suppose the sea's meant to take us eventually. Paratus Barbula
Some nights master Erns reads book to %Name. Tells %Name of the sea and ships. %Name tells master Erns that he has been on sea and ship. Ship rocks too much. Makes %Name sick. Master Erns thinks it's funny. Can't say %Name doesn't give warning. Vika
The seafaring sort don't come through my shop often. I doubt I could tell you what a sailor looks like. The smell, I can imagine. I've sold goods to a young Dunmer who works the Mothran Plantation south of the town. Doesn't say much when he's in here. There's a sorrowful look on his face, but his gait speaks of heroism and spirit. Ah, nevermind me. Good luck to you. Dithisi Andral
Hmm... I think I know of someone. There's a young Dunmer who comes in here on rare occasions. Soft-spoken, one might say, but strong arms and intelligent eyes. He'll browse the books, the trinkets and such. Heh. Anyway, he asked about a sword once, something a sailor might carry. I showed him what I had, and he took a liking to a particular blade. Said he didn't have the money. I had to laugh, because that boy is the heir to the Mothran Plantation south of here. Eh, wants none of it, though. Myron Rothalen
A sailor, you say? I'd be more than happy if you'd rid my daughter of that orphan farm boy. He won't speak a word to her, but she claims to be deeply in love. Nara won't be young forever. She's wasting time with that Erns Alar. Garyne Selos
There's this young Dunmer who works the fields over at the Mothran Plantation south of here. He's a quiet one. Goes by the name Erns Alar. Anyway, he'll hand me a list, I hand him the goods, and he goes about his business. Heh. Can't recall what brought it up, but he was in here once. Started going on and on about sailing, vast oceans, far away lands. Have to tell him I've never been on a ship and don't plan to. Maybe he's what you're looking for. Nalman Relarys Disposition ≥ 50
I assume since you're here you've exhausted your options at the docks and tavern. I've known farmhands to make quality sailors. You might be wise to check the fields to the south. Nalman Relarys
If I weren't crewing a ship, I'd take the offer. Nothing at the docks? My captain brought on a farmhand years back. Turned out to be quite the sailor. Evolitte
So, Lannus stuck to his word. Got rid of those two trouble-makers. Good for him. I've got no leads, unfortunately. And don't you dare go after my crew. Nurem Tenim
Oh, I dream of adventure and the high seas, but I've got a terrible fear of heights. Is there any need for an experienced cook? Telrav Calvus
Sailors? Ha! You must be joking. I bet that boy Erns Alar over at the Mothran Plantation to the south would do well aboard a ship. He's an odd one, but sturdy and, from what I sense, not a halfwit. Derzub gro-Uthig
You won't find any sailors this far out of town. Might try that boy Erns Alar at the Mothran Plantation south of Hlerynhul. He doesn't say much. Strong and hard working. He seems to have a real fondness for the water. Dermys Belothan
Ha! So those two are out and now you've been tasked with replacing them. Didn't the captain tell you to avoid places like this? Khazor gro-Bash
Bah! Those dolts. I should've gone ashore. Can't replace Dyus. The captain'll come to his senses. Paratus Barbula
Sometimes Captain Lannus... I stand by the captain. Talk to the people of Hlerynhul. Don't bring me the weak or dense. I need to get this ship underway. Birgarte the Sunny
Doubt you'll find anyone here that isn't spoken for. Check elsewhere. Surely someone in town has the muscle to tug a rope. Disposition ≥ 30 Hlerynhul, The Musty Mudcrab
If you're asking me this before checking down at the docks or a tavern, then I'm sorry, but I can't help you. Guard Disposition ≥ 30 Hlerynhul
The most obvious place to look would be the docks. Have you tried the Musty Mudcrab? Disposition ≥ 30 Hlerynhul
