If Dro'Jaaban thinks we should stop training at the guildhall for the time being, that's what we'll do. At least with magic that could get people hurt. Dyros of Eguame
So, Dro'Jaaban thinks we should stop training for the time being? Then that's what we'll do. I'll get a start on looking into this dead magic business. I recall seeing a book in the library about the topic once. I'll take it up with Nolidrando. Thank you for looking into this, %pcrank. Here, these are for you. Don't worry, they were made outside of the guildhall. They shouldn't have any unpleasant side effects. Dyros of Eguame
In all, Dro'Jaaban would recommend ceasing unnecessary spellcasting at your guildhall until you figure out exactly what is causing these misfires. Dro'Jaaban hopes that he was of help to you, %pcname. Now he will take the some time to look into his crystal ball that you so generously recovered for him. Dro'Jaaban
This Dro'Jaaban cannot know because he is not a member of the Mages Guild. He does, however, know that many advancements in spellcrafting and enchanting have come from your guildhall. Could one of your guildmates have accidentally created an antimagic curse? Dro'Jaaban does not think it likely. Such catastrophies are typically felt from miles away. And that would not explain the curse affecting the entirety of the guildhall. So this is still a puzzle. He is sorry he couldn't be of more help. Dro'Jaaban
As Dro'Jaaban mentioned, it is a rare occurance. He first learned of it in the oral histories of the Wild Elves. After the Prophet Marukh's followers danced upon the Tower, many of their spells were gravely wounded and eventually killed. The spells they used to craft their famous flesh-gardens, for one. Another Wild Elf sage told him that a spell that could keep clothes spotlessly clean was lost, although they may have been playing a joke on Dro'Jaaban. Such a spell would be all too convenient. Dro'Jaaban
These occurances are very unusual, but %name is reminded of a rare phenomenon. Magic that is dying. Certain calamitous events can cause a sort of anti-magic to take form. It is a kind of curse that attaches itself to a type of magic, which eventually kills it, and makes the spell impossible to cast. At first, the effects of anti-magic appear exactly as you describe. The odd piece of the puzzle is that you say it's happening with all kinds of magic. %name does not know what to make of this. Dro'Jaaban
Dro'Jaaban may have some insight on this matter, yes. But he will only tell you about it after you bring his crystal ball back to him. Dro'Jaaban
Dro'Jaaban may have some insight into this matter. He knows much about destruction magic, after all. But he is much preoccupied with fretting over his missing crystal ball. Dro'Jaaban
Dro'Jaaban is our best chance at finding out what exactly is going on around here. See if Herd the Bird can tell you where he is. Dyros of Eguame
Spells have been going mad during training sessions. I've never seen anything like it. Some of the apprentices were seriously hurt. I have no idea why this could be occuring, so I'm sending you to find somebody who might. His name is Dro'Jaaban. A master of destruction magic, but he's an odd sort. Never stays in one place for long. I don't know exactly where he is now, but his former apprentice Herd the Bird is staying here in the Foreign Quarter. If the two stayed in contact, Herd might know where he is. Dyros of Eguame
