As I said: look in a shipwreck somewhere near the Sadas Plantation. The sword should be locked in Roderick's chest. If you manage to find Roderick's corpse I'm sure the key will be nearby. He always kept it on his body.

Asking around, I found out that the ship with Roderick on board never reached Port Telvannis. It probably got wrecked just west of the island, near to the Sadas Plantation. The sea is often furious there and nearby, the deep abyss has swallowed plenty of ships, never giving them back. Now if you could dive into that abyss, find the key and unlock Roderick's chest, the sword would be yours. Perhaps these potions may come handy. I wish you good luck, I know you can recover the sword.

Of course he didn't let me carry his treasure for even a moment. He had it locked in his chest in the captain's cabin and kept the key with him all the time. The chest was a really sturdy piece with a hard lock, clearly designed to keep such a precious weapon. Once we reached Old Ebonheart, Melie and I continued on our own. When we later arrived in Port Telvannis, I was curious and wanted to see Roderick again, to ask if he had succeeded. However, I could not find him anywhere.

During our voyage from Dawnstar, we shared a ship cabin with a Redguard swordsman, who called himself Roderick. He was a weaponsmith, traveling to Port Telvannis to sell one of his masterpieces to some of the nobles living there. I cannot say what attracts people of his kind into these lands, but I can say that the sword he showed me was a piece like none I had ever seen before. A perfectly balanced Akaviri blade, sharp as the tooth of a werewolf and light as a feather. Even a child could bear that sword.

Well... perhaps I might know where such a sword could be found. Help me to save Melie and I promise to reveal its location to you.

Ah! I understand! You think you deserve this sword more than me? You think you are more worthy and can put it to better use? Then I will prove you wrong, in mortal combat. I have searched for this sword for too long to draw back from this challenge. En guarde!

Ah! I understand! You think you deserve this sword more than me? You think you are more worthy and can put it to better use? Well then, I hope your pride will lead to your downfall. You may have torn apart my dreams, but truly, you have taught me much of the harshness of this world. Now have some decency and leave me.

Thank you, my mistress. From now on I pledge my life to yours. I will follow you wherever you may go. We shall travel together until death parts us.

Thank you, my master. From now on I pledge my life to yours. I will follow you wherever you may go. We shall travel together until death parts us.

What do you want to think about? Yes, it is quite a dear thing to be sundered from, I know. But it will serve you better in my hands than in yours. Take your time, but use it wisely and make a noble decision.

You have found it! You have found the weapon of my dreams. Now, give it to me and let my whole body and soul become your sword.

I have no need for such trinkets. You bore me.

I do not concern myself with such trivialities.

Surely you have more important things to discuss.

Is that all you barbarians ever think about?

Is that all you barbarians ever think about?

Is that truly the limit to you peasants' imaginations?

I would be interested in such a sword as well. Unfortunately, it seems there was a problem with the last supply of imported luxury goods.

Sorry, but I have heard news that the incoming supply from Hammerfell was lost in a storm. It may take months before another trade ship arrives. But don't you like any of the goods in my store? Have a proper look around, I am sure I can find something that would satisfy your needs.

Yes, sometimes I order such luxury goods from Hammerfell. Such shipments usually arrive by boat from the west. But as you can see, I don't have anything of the quality you're looking for right now.

I'm afraid I don't trade such expensive weapons. Try a more specialized shop.

I am afraid I cannot help you. Have you tried asking some traders or weaponsmiths?

Can't you bother someone else?

If you're looking for a good sword in this barbaric country, your only real option is to visit a store, where you can buy imported blades from the best weaponsmiths of my people. However, you won't find a shop like that around here, I'll tell you, despite my efforts. If I was smarter, I'd have tried to open my store in Port Telvannis. It's bigger, and the Telvanni nobles living there are rich. Perhaps some of my kinsman were faster and already set up shop there. Try asking in Port Telvannis.

I am afraid you have no weapon that would fit my vision of a perfect sword with you. I am looking for a dai-katana, of Akaviri make that is light to swing. No other sword, not even a katana, could ever satisfy me.

So, you have heard of my quest? Well, perhaps you could be the one to help me. I have had a vision of a perfect sword. It appeared in my dreams as an Akaviri dai-katana. But it has to be lighter, swifter and sharper than any other blade, so that even an amateur could use it easily. Perhaps magical enchantment will be needed for this purpose. I don't know whether such a blade exists, but if you find it, bring it to me and I shall swear to serve you until my death.

Nothing to concern you.
