I craved the power... once. Now, I crave for silence. Blessed silence. To be alive... forever... is an accursed existence. Too much noise. Too much of everything. The crown can give me peace. You stole my crown... Why did you have to do it?

That is a dire thing to say, outlander. Perhaps you're a fool, perhaps you're just greedy. Either way, if you touch that crown you are bound to cause misery to many.

Thank you, outlander. Tell the Hlaalu that they should leave the caverns of Ushu-Kur altogether.

It is trickery -- praised be our clever ancestors! The same trickery with which the accursed Ushu-Dimmu was deceived to place the crown on his own head willingly. The crown is a powerful thing, yes, but it does not simply grant immortality. He cannot die, but nor can he live. The enchantments of the crown keep him both ever-living and ever-bound. That is why it must never be removed. I do not know what would happen, if this magic seal should be broken.

Athanatology is not my area of expertise. Demyn and Ambarmetta would know more, but... well, I've not seen them in a while. I don't know where they've been sent. Sometimes it's better not to ask too many questions.

Athanatology is not my area of expertise. You should speak with either Demyn or Ambarmetta downstairs. But, if I may comment, I certainly see why this subject would interest serjo Tholer Andas. Who wouldn't want to be immortal? Especially if one has more gold than one could ever spend in just one lifetime.

It is a fascinating subject, isn't it? And hard to research, too. The Ashlander histories are often muddled by what could be described as 'memory decay'. This tends to plague cultures which shun the written word. This means there are still significant gaps in our knowledge of Ushu-Dimmu and his life, but from what we've pieced together we've come to a hypothesis that the so-called Cursed Crown of Ushu-Dimmu is the key to his immortality. The exact nature of this immortality, however, remains unclear.

It's an exciting topic, but serjo Tholer Andas wouldn't want me to share secrets with you.

The scholars lied to me.

The scholars lied to me. You see what became of them, don't you? I told you I have no patience for incompetence. The crown was supposed to... it was supposed to... bring back my Sathasa.

I have already shared many pieces of this puzzle with you, sellsword. I won't tell you more of what my scholars have found out. You don't need to know everything.
