The Treaty of the Armistice is the pact that ended hostilities between Morrowind and the Empire at the end of the Second Era. It is more than any normal treaty, though. Signed by the living god Vivec and Tiber Septim, who became the god Talos, it is a divine pact for both the Empire and the Dunmer. Felmo Ilveroth Disposition ≥ 30
The power of Talos was unmistakable, but the writing on the true Armistice was illegible. Is it possible that's the only reason they display a fake? Because the original is lost to time? How could Talos allow his holy pact to fade? I must find the true words of Talos somehow. Perhaps there were witnesses who made copies unsullied by deceit. Do not worry, friend. If I find any leads I will call on you again and share my wisdom once again. Tyrus Viducian Bal Foyen, The Dancing Cup
We've come this far together and you deny me! Fine. In the name of Talos you will die for your treachery. Tyrus Viducian
Finally! You've done a great service to the Empire today, %PCName. I will receive the true words of Talos and spread the proof of this deception to all. Tyrus Viducian
Finally! You've done a great service to the Empire today, %PCName. I will receive the true words of Talos and spread the proof of this deception to all. Tyrus Viducian Ebon Tower, Imperial Commission: Treasury Vault
You've seen the true Armistice and been touched by Talos himself! Will you give me the daggers that were the key so that I can gaze upon it myself? Tyrus Viducian
Fool! You've stolen the false Armistice! Now there's no chance of getting the true Armistice. Talos curse you for your incompetence. Tyrus Viducian
The secret of the true Armistice involves the daggers. Look around and see what you can find. Tyrus Viducian Ebon Tower, Imperial Commission: Treasury Vault
I understand why you would hesitate for what comes next. Take the time you need to prepare, but do not take too long. The guards are already suspicious of me. Tyrus Viducian
Very well. I'll buy you as much time as I can. Witness the might of a holy warrior of Talos -- the God who was first a man! Tyrus Viducian
Hah! You've the makings of a Red Dome Templar with that attitude. Let's give these traitors the fate they deserve! Tyrus Viducian
The only remaining obstacle to our holy mission are these guards. They refuse to listen to reason. I don't relish spilling Legion blood, but any who would defile the true words of Tiber Septim with this deceit are traitors to the Empire! I can distract them while you reveal the Armistice or we can fight them together. What do you say? Tyrus Viducian Ebon Tower, Imperial Commission: Treasury Vault
Meet me in the Treasury Vault in the Imperial Commission. And make sure not to lose those daggers. Tyrus Viducian Ebon Tower, Sewers: Upper
Good. You'll need to figure out how to use the daggers to reveal the Armistice on your own. My research only knew they were the key. Meet me in the Treasury Vault in the Imperial Commission. There we will finally unveil this treachery. Tyrus Viducian
To reveal the Armistice we'll need two ceremonial daggers. An Old Chitin Dagger, on display in the main hall of the Imperial Commission, and an Old Imperial Dagger, on display in the High Chambers of the Palace. These daggers were used by Tiber Septim and the heathen Vivec to sign the Armistice in blood. I'll need you to retrieve these two daggers yourself. The guards roaming the Ebon Tower will keep a close eye on a Red Templar like myself. Bring the daggers to me here so we can plan our next move. Tyrus Viducian Ebon Tower, Sewers: Upper
Can you not see the injustice of this lie?! I only hope you'll come to your senses and change your mind. Tyrus Viducian
Excellent. Together we will expose this treachery. Meet me in the sewers beneath the Ebon Tower. There I will share what I know of the secret of the true Armistice. There's an entrance on the north side of the island -- outside the walls -- that I'll be using to avoid drawing attention. You can take the same path or find your own way. Tyrus Viducian
The Treaty of the Armistice, the pact between Morrowind and the Empire, signed by Tiber Septim himself. They would have you believe it resides on display in the Ebon Tower, but I have learned that scrap of paper is nothing but a forgery. These savages make a cruel mockery of the man who became a God, and I cannot allow this deception to continue. The true words of Talos must be revealed to all. Will you join me in this holy mission?
