A villager in Velonith says that Varuso Veloth has not come by the village in a while, but he may have stopped in a neighboring village. A traveler by land would stop at Selyn, while a traveler by water would stop at Rilsoan.

A villager in Rilsoan says that Varuso Veloth has been kidnapped by a gang of smugglers in the nearby cave of Massanud.

I have convened with Varuso Veloth.

Varuso Veloth is being held hostage in the cave of Massanud, just south of the hamlet of Rilsoan. His captor, Sarrugi Sentishi, offers a ransom of 1000 drakes.

Varuso Veloth will not tell me about Marki the Shark until I free him.

Varuso Veloth tells me he never made it to his meeting with Marki the Shark, as Varuso was kidnapped before he could make it to Velonith. The smugglers may have spotted Marki's body in the river south from Velonith.

Varuso Veloth is dead.

Marki the Shark is an agent of the East Empire Company, and before he went missing, Marki's work was essential to Company operations. Now Cano wants me to hunt down the Shark.

On his last trip, Marki the Shark was set to meet three clients on the Thirr River: Deldor Arethi in Dondril, Aren Tano in Almas Thirr, and Varuso Veloth in Velonith. Cano wants me to find these merchants and check in on them to get information on Marki's whereabouts.

I have found Marki the Shark.

Cano was dismayed but unsurprised to hear I had already found Marki the Shark's corpse near Velonith. Cano now wants me to check in on three of Marki's old clients: Deldor Arethi near Dondril, Aren Tano near Almas Thirr, and Varuso Veloth near Velonith. I am to discreetly find them and see which ones he met before he died.

Cano thanked me for talking to the three merchants and finding what remained of Marki the Shark.

I have convened with Deldor Arethi.

Deldor Arethi tells me Marki the Shark showed up to their meeting in Dondril and went south to Almas Thirr.

I have convened with Aren Tano.

Aren Tano tells me Marki the Shark showed up to their meeting in Almas Thirr and went southeast to the village of Velonith.
