Davor Indri, a Dunmer slaver in Almas Thirr, asked me to interrogate some slaves being held for an Indoril noble due to suspicions that one of them could be a spy in disguise.
No Good Deed
I named the Argonian Ja'Weer as the spy among Davor Indri's slaves. He rewarded me with 100 septims.
I named the Dunmer Llaynasa as the spy among Davor Indri's slaves. He rewarded me with 100 septims.
I named the Altmer Rulene as the spy among Davor Indri's slaves. He rewarded me with 100 septims.
I named the Khajiit Jar'Jo-Zhid as the spy among Davor Indri's slaves. He rewarded me with 100 septims.
I named both the Khajiit Jar'Jo-Zhid and the Altmer Rulene as the spies among Davor Indri's slaves. He was very pleased with me and rewarded me with 250 septims and an amulet from one of his favorite catcatchers.
Some of Davor Indri's slaves escaped. To be safe, he chose to turn the rest over to House Indoril for questioning, and so couldn't reward me.
One of Davor Indri's slaves died during my investigation. To be safe, he chose to turn the rest over to House Indoril for questioning, and so couldn't reward me.
Davor Indri is dead.
I attempted to interrogate the Khajiit Jar'Jo-Zhid, but he refused to say anything.
Davor suggested I scare Jar'Jo-Zhid into cooperating by threatening to turn him over to House Indoril.
Threatening to turn Jar'Jo-Zhid over to House Indoril got him talking. He says he learned to fight for money in Kragenmoor, and got caught and enslaved on the border when trying to sneak into Cyrodiil to ply his trade in the arenas there.
I relayed Jar'Jo-Zhid's claims to Davor Indri, and he said that the Khajiit's transaction record listed him being sold by catcatchers in Bal Foyen. This contradicts his story of capture on the border with Cyrodiil.
I confronted Jar'Jo-Zhid about his false story and he admitted to being a Hlaalu spy. However, he promised that his handler would reward me if I kept his secret and had another slave take the fall for him, or that he would reward me himself if I instead chose to free him.
I confronted Jar'Jo-Zhid about his false story and he admitted to being a Hlaalu spy. Realizing I was a member of House Hlaalu, he directed me to have another slave take the fall for him instead, at which point he will have his handler reward me.
I gave Jar'Jo-Zhid a lockpick to free himself from Davor Indri's slave pen. He promised to reward me in three days.
Jar'Jo-Zhid ambushed me and attempted to kill me while I was resting.
I interrogated the Altmer Rulene, who claimed she was a priestess of Xarxes in Alinor before being enslaved, and that, consequently, she would never cooperate with any mer of any Great House willingly, even despite being enslaved.
I asked Davor about Rulene, and he claimed that she attempted to seduce him the night before, something he believes a devout priestess of Xarxes would never do.
I confronted Rulene about her claim of being a priestess of Xarxes, and she immediately broke down and admitted she had been hired by House Hlaalu as a spy. She begged me not to tell Davor or to let her go, promising not to bother anyone once she was safe from her Hlaalu handlers.
I gave Rulene a lockpick to free herself from Davor Indri's slave pen.
I interrogated the Argonian Ja'Weer, who claimed he descends from a long line of slaves trained as housekeepers for minor nobility, and therefore cannot be a spy. He says Davor should have a copy of his beast pedigree which backs up this claim.
Davor looked over Ja'Weer's beast pedigree, which corroborated his origins. Davor's Khajiit, Jar'Jo-Zhid, does not have a pedigree record, since he is a first generation slave.
I interrogated the Dunmer Llaynasa, who claims that she was enslaved because of extensive gambling debts she racked up at the arena in Vivec. She says that, because she was sold directly to Davor, she could not have been in contact with a member of House Hlaalu, and asked me to look over Davor's transaction records, which should back up this claim.
Davor looked over Llaynasa's transaction records which confirmed she was indeed sold directly from a creditor in Vivec.
