The Sorcerer's Apprentices

Caros Cocceius asked me to help him conduct a series of three challenges to determine who should be the new court wizard. He tasked me with informing Talis Nerethril's apprentices, Saturius and Kelkemmello, while he prepares the first challenge. Caros said they should both be in Julianos' Tower.

The first challenge is a test of the wizards' enchanting abilities. Caros Cocceius asked me to inform Saturius and Kelkemmello about the details.

Kelkemmello won the second challenge, making him the winner of the three challenges. Caros Cocceius declared him the new court wizard and rewarded me for helping to conduct the three challenges.

Saturius gave me an enchanted amulet originally meant for Talis Nerethril as thanks for helping him beat Kelkemmello in the three challenges.

Saturius believes that a spell which Talis Nerethril developed might give him an edge in the third challenge. Talis wrote about it in his journal, which is being kept in Nerethril Manor. Saturius asked me to go to the manor in the western part of town and see if Talis' son, Methal, would give it to me. The manor is one of the houses in the middle row.

Methal Nerethril agreed to let me have Talis Nerethril's journal. He told me it was in the basement and gave me the key to get in.

I showed Talis Nerethril's notes to Saturius. He believes he can use the spell described within against Kelkemmello in the third challenge.
